One-of-a-Kind Repro Robe -Sea or Blush, S-S only

from $275.00
sale

This one-of-a-kind robe was inspired by a dressing gown in the Metropolitain Museum show “The Kimono”. The original was made in Japan for the export market in the 1890s. See it in the product photos! I have been trying to get this robe in my regular inventory, but the fabric supplier keeps selling out of the colors I pick! There will not be another in these colors. I chose a natural cotton binding and made some passementerie closures to match. The large buttons are real mother-of-pearl and deadstock from the 1980s. They are designed like a cufflink to be easily removable for washing. Overall effect is very “Gilded Age”.

Thread Circus robes may look precious, but they are utilitarian garments. They stand up to frequent machine washing and drying.

100% Cotton. Made in the United States.
