Robe Care

Vintage Laundry Sign

The Thread Circus robe is not a precious garment.

It works for you. You don’t work for it.

Cook in it, eat in it, clean in it, play in it, and of course relax in it. The vintage construction of these robes gets softer and drapier with every wash. They can be machine washed at any temperature and dried at medium heat. Please just don’t wash with things that could hook the quilting thread (zippers, Velcro, bra closures, etc...). The robes should need no ironing, but if you do iron, use a medium temperature.

Thread Circus robes are preshrunk in production. The all-cotton construction experiences significant shrinkage during the first wash, so that is done before the robe comes to you. Like a pair of just-washed jeans, the robe will relax and conform to you as you wear it. Don’t worry if it is a little tight the first time you put it on, anywhere it is under tension will loosen and shape to your shape as you wear it.
